Idrissa Ouédraogo


Idrissa Ouedraogo was born on January 21, 1954 in Banfora, Upper Volta.
Idrissa is a reputed African film director known for his exploring rural and city conflicts fusing of tradition and modernity of African landscapes.

He is best known for his feature film Tilaï, which won the Grand Prix at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival and Samba Traoré (1993), which was nominated for the Silver Bear award at the 43rd Berlin International Film Festival. Kini and Adams was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival and won the Jury prize at the 1998 Bermuda International Film Festival
